Things I'm Dying to Have For My House

I cannot wait to have my house decorated the exact way I have envisioned in my head. The one thing that keeps me working at my current job even though it's not my favorite job is the thought that I will get my pension in August after I've been there for 5 years. An eternity. (Most people don't even last a year.) With my pension I plan on getting a few of things that I've been wanting for a LONG time and lusting after in my Ballard Designs and Pottery Barn Catalogs month after month. I really want my main floor of my house to French Country Shabby Chic with a navy and oatmeal color palatte. Then for the woods I want to mix and match antique white woods with espresso. Needless to say once it is complete it will be wonderful!

I love these chairs for in my living room:

Then I want to get this couch and have ruffle skirt added around the bottom of it:

That's my living room... the current furniture will go down in the basement. Then for my dinning room I want it to look like this:

But with this color of table:

And these chairs:

I need this table because it has a leaf, and my current table just isn't big enough for when I have all of my family over for dinner, and I love to cook. While we are speaking of cooking... I love this china. I think it will be soo pretty with my cobalt blue fiestaware I currently have and it will mix and match well together with my current china:

Finally I LOVE this and have been in love with it for over 2 years now and it is longing to have a home on my landing on the way to the 2nd floor of mi casa.

Except I want it in cream with gold accents, as pictured at BallardDesigns.com
I couldnt get the picture of the cream with gold accents large enough to be able to post it on here.

I have decided to update my blog more often. With that said here is the start of something fabulous. So Kelsey, and whomever else reads this blog, prepared to be amazed. Haha. (Kelsey is my sister if you are someone who is randomly reading my blog which seems highly unlikely, but just in case).

Where do I begin?

Well I love Art History, and I would love to be an Art History Major, however, Utah Valley University does not offer that as a major or a minor, so I am an English major with a minor in the humanities. One day I eventually want to go back to school and get my masters in Art History as it is something I am truely passionate about and I long for the day when I have tons of extra money and can go museum hopping around the world seeing wonderful art and architecture.

Getting to the point though, this last week on Ovation there have been some absolutely wonderful shows on about art history, specifically about art crimes. I loved it. I found myself hurrying home after a long day at work so that I could sit by the fire and watch tv. I will say this as well. I have not really been a big Rubens fan, naked curvy girls are not my favorite thing to see even though I myself am slightly more curvy (but if my diet goes as planned I will be substantially less curvy by the time summer comes around). However, there was a beautiful painting of his that was stolen and then the person who stole it was trying to sell it. Scandalous! I loved it and since I loved it so much here is a picture of it for you to marvel at. Hope you enjoy... Nevermind. I've looked for almost an hour with no luck. If I am bored tomorrow I continue my search, but I'm too tired to look for it any longer tonight.

Then on Saturday, Bethany and I went out for dinner at Biaggis, which was wonderful as always. They have the BEST bread pudding. I had never had it before and Bethany who loves it says I should never get it from anywhere else because I would be sorely disappointed, because appearanty Biaggis i the best bread pudding she has ever had.

We also went to see Country Strong which was amazing, and it has inspired me to listen to country music more often. I was a little diappointed that they showed Austin's skyline (which I didn't even know existed) but they neglected to show the best skyline in the state of Texas... Dallas'! Crazy Hollywood people.

Sunday I went to church, I was late but I have decided better a little late than not at all, although I am now striving to get there on time. Even though it is at 9 am on sunday morning. Ugh, we have weekends to sleep in, not to wake up at our usual time!

Grandma Dianne, lovingly referred to as Grandma D, is back from her trip to Alabama, so of course Coco and I stopped by to visit her this evening. It was wonderful. Coco is planning on going over to hang out with Grandma tomorrow so that she is not home from 830 am to 700 pm all by herself. Coco is a smidge spoiled but EVERYONE loves her. She's alseep next to me as we speak. She is plum exhausted from her busy day of napping. Haha.

I dont really look forward to school or work tomorrow, BUT the thing that is keeping me going is knowing that I have Wednesday to Friday of this week off from work. Yippee!
